Statutes of the House of Europe in Rhodes
Article 1
Foundation - Title - Registered Office
- A non-governmental, non-profit Association is established under the title "The House of Europe in Rhodes", "La Ìaison de l'Europe - Rhodes".
- The town of Rhodes, Plateia Åvreon Ìartiron 30 & Âyzantiou – Palia Poli, is appointed as the registered office of the Association.
- According to the decision of the General Assembly of the Association, representative offices of the Association may be established in other cities as well.
Article 2
Objective - Duration
- The objective of the Association is the development and the promotion of the financial, developing, educational, cultural, technological and social relations between Greece, especially the isles of Dodekanisos, and the other European countries, as well as the projection and promotion of the Greek views and positions in order to facilitate the constructive role of Greece within the European Union.
- In order to accomplish the above-mentioned objectives, the Association co-operates with the respective European organisations, the European Institutes and especially with the Greek Authorities, which are related to the constructive participation of Greece to the European Union.
- The Association helps the above authorities and agencies by providing technical and administrative means that allow the accomplishment of its objectives. In addition, it organises conferences, seminars, lectures, excursions, it awards scholarships, it grants awards, and for these purposes it co-operates with every authority and agency.
- The Association disposes a library, a web-site, a video archive and in general it promotes the collection of any sort of material that enables the accomplishment of the above objective.
- The duration of the Association is unlimited.
Article 3
Members status
- The members of the Association are divided into founder, full, associated and honorary members.
- The members of the Association are not responsible for the obligations of the Association.
- The members receive no remuneration for the services they provide to the Association.
- Whoever has been deprived of his civil rights through a judgement of a Court may not in any case be member of the Association.
- A member loses its status after it has resigned or been expelled.
